The Glacier Rock is dedicated to the Swabian poet Gustav Schwab – known for "The Rider from Lake Constance", a rider who crosses the frozen Lake Constance. The Swabian poet Gustav Schwab (1792-1850) belonged to the Württemberg literary circle around Ludwig Uhland and Justinus Kerner. Schwab wrote romances and songs. His best-known works include the ballad "Der Reiter und der Bodensee" (The Horseman and Lake Constance) and the first travel guide to the Lake Constance region, published in 1872, as well as retellings of the legends of classical antiquity.
